WhatsApp: +86 18203695377I'm considering fitting a DRO to my Dore Westbury milling machine. There is not much space for the scales on this small mill, and there are many options on DROs. I would therefore be very interested to hear from anyone who has experience of installing a DRO on a DW. Brian Wood: 24/08/2016 10:15:35: 2689 forum posts 39 photos: Hello Mike,

WhatsApp: +86 18203695377Hi, When making a Dore Westbury MKII there was an option for the spindle to have a 3MT and no Myford thread on the spindle. Does anyone know what the diameter of through bore should be and what jaw bar diameter/thread was used for holding the chucks? Thanks. Ian. WhatsApp: +86 18203695377I had made my Dore Westbury mill when I bought the shaper, an Elliott 10. . It has done some useful work as mgmbuk has described and I am fortunate enough to have the space available. Mine has the satisfying sound of a washing machine when it is running and just making a flat surface is almost mesmeric.
WhatsApp: +86 182036953772 photos. Hi Guys, I have just renovated a Dore Westbury Milling machine. It does all seem okay and working although I have no collet chuck at the moment. However does anyone have any instructions for these machines. Although the "before renovation" state looks worse than it was. There was no grease in the drive gears below the pulleys.

I sold one about 4 years ago for £700 and that was the best example i've ever seen! Almost mint! and very well put together.
WhatsApp: +86 18203695377I have been restoring to working order an old Westbury (not Dore Westbury) milling machine. By the standards of the mills mentioned here this is probably so small that it would get lost in the workshop! The design of the cone nuts and micrometer dials has confused me. Each feedscrew beyond the thrust washer is threaded 7/16x26tpi and the

WhatsApp: +86 18203695377DoreWestbury MKII Milling Machine: The cut on each tooth is intermittent which is a source of vibration and there is also a certain amount of tool rubbing involved which further loads the machine frame. All of this means that milling machines have to be quite large to be rigid enough to avoid vibration and produce a good surface finish.
